Shows are fun

We (as in Force Fed Lies) played copperfields in Boston last night and it was good fun. Thanks to all the bands on the bill. There are several highlights in the night that made the night, I will do my best to commit to writing in chronological order.

8pm-
Load in, yup. That time of the night again, carrying heavy things and acting manly. It was not too bad as there is a back door to the bar.

8:30pm-
Brandon our unofficial official photographer has a fantastic thought, as our bassist is known for his tardiness to shows, he joked to start a bet on what time he would arrive. I take the joke as a literal sugegstion and voice it to the boys by betting $1 that he would arrive at 11pm, 15min over/under. It is followed by the rest of the band placing bets, and also Bill from The Turkeys asks, "Hey, whats the action?" and we explain the action. Soon we have a pool of $10 between two bands ranging of arrival time from 'On Time" to "Not Showing"

9pm-
Pork Fried Rice, A.K.A. PFR (our Bassist, Name withheld by request) has not shown yet. We continue to drink, be merry, and play games. One of the games is a basket balll arcade game, i quickly figure out I do not have ups.

9:30pm-
PFR has not arrived yet, I decide a round of shots is in order. Chilled Crown served, watching proby (Danny) cry a little bit from bourbon, and Joe begins his attempt of a nap in the corner where the bands are keep the gear.

10pm-
PFR arrives, I am shocked he arrived that early (well, early for him). Joe awakes to Nate poking at him, we continue to drink, and be merry. (The be merry part clearly is subjective). Brian's family arrives, his father, uncle, and brother.

10:30pm-
Still at that drinking thing

Now we fast forward as the rest of time involves watching other bands, more drinks, and more video games. Also gas which Joe hears and Nate smells.

12am-
Drea arrives so now we have two photographers, we play, as usual we break things (Danny with his amp and PFR breaks his strap off as well as yet again stepping on my volume pedal. Mental note, PFR is baned from myside of the stage to prevent him from stepping on my god damn volume pedal).

1am-
We finish playing and we load out, bunch of sweaty dudes moving heavy things.

Yup, thats how it all went.

Hell Yes! Nightmare Before Christmas Toys!

I went to Borders on a brief coffee retrieval break to look for, "The Art of Happiness in a Troubled World" by the Dalai Lama and came across a Nightmare Before Christmas display which contained as part of the display, a six figure set which I found that I did not possess the Constitution to resist. I heart Halloween.

Show tomorrow

I have a show tomorrow at Copperfields located in Boston. The show should be fun, not looking forward to the driving/parking situation in downtown Boston on a Friday night; poop.

Today I have been sort of sleepy yet amped up I think on coffee, after work I get to go play with Hope Before The Fall and potentially pick it up as a second/side project. We (FFL) will be playing with Hope Before The Fall in December and if I take on the project, it will be double duty for that show.

OMG! First blog!

I decided to start this blog between random thoughts that pop in my head, the various projects I am working on, and moments in the day that surprise me. No, not the jump out and, "Boo!" kind of surprise but moments where actual humanity reveals its self to me through another person and it isn't a horrific sight. However, if a ghost pops out and says, "Boo! I'm a ghost", I will write about that.

Projects at hand....The one I am very stoked about is Force Fed Lies which is a band out of Boston, Ma. We just completed recording a five song EP with Jay Maas over at The Getaway Group. The record should be released late 2009 along with collateral merch to follow. I will be sure to say something here as well as at our myspace site. Please checkout our msyapce site, if you like us, say hello and friend us! Better yet, hope to see you at a show.
